Rachel Mars grew up in west London, was labelled a 'loose cannon' by her school, so naturally went on to study theatre. For a long time she worked with performance poetry company Apples & Snakes, and also for Told by an Idiot. Now she curates programmes of art and culture for the JCC for London, makes performance work as a solo artist and collaborates with nat tarrab as mars.tarrab.
Her performances are funny, intimate, rude and sometimes heart-breaking. They deal with the political on a very personal level. She is currently obsessed with the fear of loss, dustin hoffman in tootsie, tomboyism and moustaches on women. You can contact her at the 'tell me things' page.
